This permission is essential for the core functionality of the app, which is to automatically detect financial transactions such as bank debits, credits, card payments, UPI transfers, and wallet activity.

We do not read or use personal or promotional SMS. Only transactional messages from banks, financial institutions, and payment services are processed. This ensures accurate expense calculation without accessing any unrelated content.

We never upload, store, or share your SMS content outside our servers or with third parties. All processing of SMS data happens locally on your device.

• Analytical Data: We may collect usage analytics (e.g., feature usage, crashes, logs) to improve the app experience. These analytics never include the content of your SMS messages.

2. Why We Need SMS Permission

Kharcha requests SMS permission solely because it is necessary for the core feature of expense tracking. Without SMS access, the app cannot automatically detect transactions and therefore cannot provide accurate financial summaries.

We respect your privacy and strictly use SMS data only for this purpose. At no point is your SMS data transmitted, shared, or sold.
